SR 102 - Compliance and Organization
Text transcript:
Hey guys, welcome back. ScrapRight 102, we're calling this one, going over the compliance and organization settings. So right now I'm sitting on the dashboard to get now to the compliance and organization settings.
This is one of the first things you ever want to set up before you even start doing users or materials or anything. Let's go ahead and get how the organization is going to work. So I'm going to hover over the admin tab.
I'm going to go to configuration. So in here we've got the compliance rules. So I'm just going to go and set up the basic compliance rules.
We're out here in PA, but there's a bunch of different compliance rules for different states. They vary across the board. So I can't really give you a set instruction.
You'll have to kind of look that up on what your state is looking for. But here in PA, we don't really require a lot, but I'm going to go ahead and check off requiring a picture of the material being purchased. I'm going to require a picture of the person selling the material.
And then I'm also going to want to automatically capture image during payment. So once you hit the pay screen, which you guys haven't seen yet, it will automatically fire that customer camera and grab the picture of the person that you're buying the material from. We want a state driver's license.
I'm going to go ahead and say we want a signature. Not everywhere requires a thumbprint. There's select areas that need thumbprints.
And then I also want to make sure I get the vehicle plate. And that's all I'm going to say I require for compliance wise. But we're going to go down here.
We're going to check off exclude all compliance rules for business customers. I want my license or ID to be current. And then I'm going to set the minimum age.
Typically it's 18 unless it's cans. Typically there's no compliance on aluminum cans. And the rest of these are for basically specific states.
And you'll know if you need it depending on where you're at. Like I said go back through and you know go and look up what your state compliance needs. There's some different ones for South Carolina.
If you're a catalytic converter buyer but your state requires them to be a business to purchase catalytic converters, there's a button there's a check box for that. There's also where you can require a date of birth that you can put in there. And you can also require signatures for businesses as well if you wanted to do that.
This 100 point check, that's a new feature. I'm going to have to go kind of in and look and see what that does for a later video. But we're going to save those configuration settings.
So now your compliance rules are set. And where those take place is when we start adding materials in a later video. But since we're done there that's all there is really to set up the compliance.
So let's just go check out the organization tab. Here you can enter your registration numbers and certification numbers. I'm going to keep my ticket start at ticket 1000.
I'm not going to add a prefix. I'm going to scroll down through here. And if you're not if you're ever not sure what one of these check boxes does, call us and ask us before you go and check it off.
I'm going to be using I'm going to be using a a sorry, I'm going to be using an iPad. I'm sorry, I'm going to be using an iPad for a signature device. So we consider that a CFK, which is a customer facing kiosk.
I'm going to tell the software that that is it. Just scroll down through here. If the customer's blank or in the business is blank, we want to it says hi, but actually, you know, it blows those blows those customer records out.
We don't want to hide price for the for the Moby signature. A couple ATM settings there. The interactive ticket.
If you have a Weigh-master certificate, you can make sure that displays on the interactive ticket, like especially if you're using the customer display that I talked about last video, that will display on there as well. I want to be able to add a VIN number later. So that that button there allows you you can if you have the title in hand, the title is good, but you've got a you've got a long line, you're slammed, you can actually pay that ticket.
And once that ticket is actually paid, you can go back in and enter that VIN number in after the fact into the software. That's all that that's what that button does there for you. And then once I get so actually, I should have hit save once you get to it.
Once you scroll through all of them and get to a save button, go ahead and click the click Save. I've gone through this one and click Save. And then I'm not going to be doing time clock.
I'm not going to set up a ticket fee quite yet. Catalytic converters will be a whole nother video. IOT settings will be a whole nother video.
But let's go back up here to pay preferences. My default payment type is going to be cash. My default AP terms, I'm going to do a net 30.
It's 30 days, 30 days out. You can require a check. You can require a check payment after so much.
So say we'll do make that $100. And then I'm also going to exclude the businesses from the required check payment. I know sometimes, sometimes businesses prefer getting checks.
Sometimes they only prefer getting cash. But we're going to exclude them from check payments from the required check payment. We can still determine if they want to check or not at the pay window.
I'm going to set up some, I'm going to set up some standard rounding. But we can also round everything up, round everything down. I'm going to go standard rounding.
Over 50 cents goes up, under 50 cents goes down. And I only want to round the cash transactions. I'm going to save that.
I'm not going to go, I'm not going to set up the email. If you've got, if you're using a different software and have a bunch of your materials already, we can get you a, we can get you a materials template on how the materials are entered in ScrapRight. And you can import materials from here if you, if you so choose.
We can also do that for business customers. We can get you the business, business customer template and do that as well. I'm not going to be printing on blank check stock.
I'm going to say it's a, it's a pre-configured check. I'm going to call the bank name the ScrapRight School. And that's all I really need.
I'm going to start, I'm going to check, started at check number 1,000 as well. I didn't change anything up here that I needed. It's saved, right? I'm not putting in, because of my compliance, I'm not putting in make and model the vehicle, so I don't need to check those off.
You can change your ticket search criteria also, or you can search, you know, search them by their address if you have their address. But I'm not going to check that off. People normally don't like giving out their address that much.
And that there should be all for the organization page. If you have a, if you have a website or you wanted to set up a customer portal, get with the team, we can get that set up. It's a customer portal where they would get their own little login and be able to log in and check and see their, you know, how many tickets they've been, how many times they've been to you, what they got paid last time.
And I believe there's also a, I believe there's also a snippet somewhere where we can show customer pricing on your website based on what you have in ScrapRight. So that is it for the compliance and organization setup. This was a little bit shorter video than last time, but come back and come back and join me for ScrapRight 103.
Thanks for watching.
