Dispatch and Asset Management - Part 6 - Pull, Dump and Return
Text Transcript:
This video is going to cover how to do a pull, dump and return dispatch. So a pull, dump and return is just like it sounds. You have a container allocated at a customer, you're going to send a driver over there to pick up that container.
So pull it from that location, bring it to your yard, dump it off. So dump off all the material and then bring the same container back. So return it back.
So pull, dump and return. That's what we're showing here. So here's the process.
All right. So I've got a container here for Alexander Lipkin at this address. The container number is 40-007.
So I've got a 40 yard asset and I am ready to go ahead and pick this up. The customer calls in and says, hey, I'd like you to pull and return it back for me. So I'm going to take this.
If I'm going to give it to this driver, I can drag it over here to Gregor's and open this up. All right. So now I'm going to go here and by default, it's going to assume you're going to do a pickup.
We're going to change that to a pull, dump and return. So when I do that, I can have the driver start this or I can do it as a dispatcher. So let's go ahead and start this trip.
That's going to take this asset and it's going to put it into this status. So it creates a ticket. So this ticket number is what's going to be a regular ticket.
So for your scale and it changes the status of that container to in transit. So the driver's on his way to get there. Once the driver gets there, it's going to open this back up and scroll back down and click finish the trip.
All right. So now I've already taken that container and dumped it and I'm on my way to bring it back. So that's what this is indicating here.
I'll click on this. I'll scroll down and I'll finish the trip. So once I do this, the container is going to go back to being allocated.
It'll disappear from Gregor's queue and it'll be thrown back on the left hand side. So let's find that container. Okay.
So here it is again. It's back at Alexander's address and there's the asset number. It is allocated.
That clock is going to start over again. So you know, however many days it's going to be there, it's going to show they're up in that gray circle and it does get a new dispatch number or a new number that's associated to this card. So that's basically how you do it.
If you wanted to check the ticketing screen, we could do that. So we're going to click on search for tickets and we're going to click on this one right here. It does add the material on there as well as in this case, I have a dispatch fee.
So I'm going to do, I'm going to be deducting $65 from this particular one. Once it gets across the scale, you know, you'll come in here and you'll enter the gross and tear of that, that was dumped. And from here, you know, you can take that and pay this out.
It'll be that $1,250 for the material minus the cost of the rental or the pickup fee. So that's how you do a pull, dump and return. I'll be having some more videos on some other topics coming up soon.
Thanks.
