Dispatch and Asset Management - Part 5 - Wait While Load
Text Transcript:
Hi, this video is going to demonstrate a Wait While Load Dispatch, so let's get started. Click on Add New Dispatch up here, and you're going to select a customer just by searching. All right, so I'm going to select this customer, Mason Dixon Welcome Center, and it's going to pull in the address, the contact, the phone, and then I'm going to select the asset type.
So I'm going to select high side as my asset type, I'll go ahead and select the container as well, and add a material to it. All right, so I'm going to select light iron, which is the material they're going to be loading in while I wait for it. Let's click Wait While Load as my trip type, I'm a dispatcher, so that's going to get pulled in automatically.
Let's go ahead and assign a driver, so let's assign Mr. T as my driver, and give him a truck as well. You can put notes or special instructions as well as put in a scheduled time for this if you want. Click Save.
All right, so now that that's done, that's going to create a card here for my driver, so Mr. T's got this right there. Now if he pulls up his phone and logs in, he's going to be able to see this card just by clicking on this refresh icon here. All right, so now his card matches what the dispatcher sees, so the next thing Mr. T is going to do is click on this drop-down arrow to load some details.
He's going to scroll down, put in any notes, take pictures, or whatever he needs to do to get started. He'll then click Start the Trip. All right, so once he starts the trip, the status changes to In Transit Drop-Off, so he's on his way out to that location, and we can check that on the asset map here by refreshing it.
All right, so let me zoom in here. This is the job that he's doing. If I click on it, it's going to show me the location and the status.
All right, so I've got a high-side asset going out to this address, and it's in transit currently. All right, so next, Mr. T, when he gets there, he's going to open this card back up again. He's going to load the details.
He'll scroll down. He'll get a signature. He'll put notes.
He'll take pictures of whatever he wants to do, and he'll click on Arrive, so that's going to tell the system that he has arrived at this customer. Let's refresh it, and then once we zoom in here again, we can click on that asset again, and it's going to tell me that my driver is waiting for that to be loaded. Let's say a half an hour passes, and the job is finished.
Mr. T is then going to drop down this arrow and scroll down and tell the system that it's finished loading, and he's ready to return back to your facility, so let's have him do that now. All right. Now, so let's refresh this.
The status is going to change from Waiting to In-Transit Pickup, which basically means he's on his way back to you. All right, and lastly, when he arrives at your facility, scroll back down, finish the trip, and that's going to release that asset as well as take it off the map and make that available again. All right, so that was a quick run-through of Wait While Load.
Thanks.
