Creating a Pin Code and Lock Screen

Voice to text transcript:

Alright, so here's a good security and accountability feature inside of ScrapRight. So we're going to be talking about the pin code and lock screen for workstations inside of ScrapRight. So to get this set up, and I'll show you what it looks like here.

To get this set up, we're going to go to our users tab to start. We're going to navigate to admin, and then users. And we're going to go pick a user here, and we're going to assign them right here a pin code.

Right here at the bottom here, we've got the pin code selection. So you put in a four digit pin code inside of that box there. The next thing we're going to do is we're actually going to go then and navigate to the admin and then configuration screen.

Then we're actually going to go over here to workstations. And then we're going to go here to a workstation, and we're going to go and set up the pin code option here. So I'm going to, on the basic tab of the workstation, right underneath the title and connection PC, we're going to go down here, we see a couple checkboxes.

Enable pin is one of those checkboxes. Whenever I click enable pin, it's going to give me a timeout choice here. So I'm actually going to drop that down here to be three seconds, and I'm going to go ahead and save that workstation.

So now that I'm logged in and I'm on that workstation, I'm going to go back here to the ticketing screen, and then I'm going to let this workstation here timeout. So right there, it popped me up the option to put in a pin code. Now, if someone's working on a ticket and they're working on something, they're weighing something in, and they walk away from that workstation and the pin code times out, but someone else comes in and another employee comes over to weigh them in, they can switch which users logged into the computer just by simply putting in their pin code.

So it's not locked out completely just for that sole user, but it's the ability to swap back and forth between employees, withholding their accountability, and setting up the pin code so they can open up the software and be able to start transactions, be able to manage their own transactions. So now I can go in and put that pin code in for the users, and it's going to allow me to log in and use that. So thanks for watching, and we'll see you on the next video.
