Configuring Point of Sale Transactions
Text transcript:
In this video we're going to be talking about our point-of-sale ticketing, so we're going to set up some materials inside of the software to be able to sell out or charge for. So it could be like your construction and demolition material, it could be your steel sales or if you're just going to sell possibly some parts out of the yard or just straight scrap material. So first things first, you want to make sure that your software package has point-of-sale included.
If it does not, reach out to your sales rep and get that turned on for you. Then we're going to go to our materials tab. We're going to go check out our materials.
I'm going to say I'm going to be able to turn around and go and sell some aluminum wheels. I'm going to select my aluminum wheels, I'm going to go over here to my configurations tab and I'm going to hit this drop down here where it says buy and I can set it up to just buy it, just sell it, or I can buy it and sell it. So I'm going to go ahead and set it to buy and sell.
I'm going to flip back here to my basic info tab and I can set my sale price. I'm going to sell these for $40 a wheel. I'm going to default it though as a buy item because it's going to be coming in or if you're just selling more than you're buying, you can turn around and default it as a sell item.
I'm going to leave it as a default as a buy item and then I'm going to change that to $40 each on the sell price. I'm going to save that material. Then whenever I go now and want to process a transaction, I can go to my ticketing screen, I can go in here to my aluminum group.
You'll notice here that the aluminum wheels button has now changed colors from this light gray box to a darker gray box here. That means that this material is able to be sold. So I'm going to go click here on the aluminum wheels and you can see now here on my black box here, I have a buy button and a sell button.
Whenever I click sell, it's going to automatically adjust the price. I'm going to say now that I am selling two wheels and it's going to skip the tear and it's going to automatically know here that I'm selling them at $40 a piece and it's going to give me a negative $80 which means on the bottom left hand side of my interactive ticket, it's going to tell me that the customer owes me $80. And that is the basics of setting up your point of sale materials.
Thank you guys. See you on the next video.
